Sidetracked started out as a way for lead singer/songwriter Frank to express himself through pop punk in 2014. After five years had passed, and with two albums down and a third one forming in his mind, Frank's thoughts and expressions were still just words on paper. One of his best friends, Fluker, decided it was finally time to start bringing the music to fruition, and over the next two years, Frank and Fluker self recorded and produced Conception for a 2019 release and Five years for a 2020 release, bringing in their good friend JP to help out with the guitar work for Five Years and the band moving forward. With these two albums down, Sidetracked put everything they learned to take on the monumental next level of the band, which is the 2022 release of Cycles.
